Found the problem why live writer can’t upload image in one of my blog account.

Friday, July 20th, 2007

I was crazy about the live writer can’t upload image in one of my blog, it’s so weired that only one account doesn’t support image upload but all other account in the same WPMU works pretty well.

Finally I found the reason is that blog account used up the upload quota!  So no upload can be successful, the only problem is that the live writer didn’t show me a detail error message but just tell me that account doesn’t support image upload.

After I change the maximize upload size from siteadmin panel, everything is fine now!

Thanks to Joe Cheng from Microsoft Live Writer team help me with comment and email! I really enjoy Microsoft Windows Live Writer, and this is the best offline blog writer so far !

Any one interested in this idea?  Embed Windows Live Writer inside Firefox

The only good of the scribefire is, it’s embed inside firefox and a stand along panel, so I can always easy to start it and start write, I can drag drop content from the web I am browsing easily.

If there is a firefox extension which can embed Live Writer inside firefox, it will be great!

Found a Firefox Addon (Extension) for Windows Live Writer - Live Writerfox , but it seemed only add context menu.

Jungle Disk may cause moveable disk can’t be used in Windows XP

Friday, July 13th, 2007

I met a very strange problem these days on my PC: When I plug  any kind of USB storage device into my PC (Moveable HD, USB flash disk, USB Card reader etc.),  the drive never show up in my PC. But it seemed the USB device works pretty well, when I open the “computer management/disk management”, it also seemed that everything is fine.

From “disk management” I found some problem, the Driver Letter assigned to the new disk is the same as the Jungle Disk’s !  For some reason, Jungle disk did not notify the system that it has used that driver letter, and that caused the problem  After I shutdown Jungle Disk, everything become ok.

I have removed Jungle Disk, the S3 virtual disk,   I have a couple of reasons:

* Caused the driver letter conflict (what I said in this post)

* Jungle disk use its own directly structure, so it create very strange directory/file names in your S3 space, so you can’t simple give out a s3 URL to share the file, I really dislike this, one advantage of using a network disk is make the file sharing much easier, with Jungle Disk, S3 become less functional.

I am using S3Fox to manage my S3 files, and I am still looking a better software which can provide similar feature as Jungle Disk does.
